The “Volley Guard” Juniors took part in the 10th Annual Jr 6-Man on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Manhattan Beach, CA. Consistent with Charlie Saikley’s original vision, the beach tournament encourages young athletes to engage in the sport.
The Advanced Juniors program is for intermediate and advanced players to prepare and assist their transition from four person instructional leagues to indoor competition with a six-player format.
Players in the Instructional Leagues, focus is on learning the fundamentals of volleyball and learning how to play the game. As the players move on from the Instructional Leagues to Advanced Juniors, the focus remains the same, except in an indoor setting.
If you are in High School and would love to share your love for volleyball with the younger generation, Get Involved. By volunteering to Coach or Assistant Coach a USYVL Team, you can share your knowledge and passion for the sport.
Volunteer coaching is a fun way to get involved and share your appreciation of volleyball with the next generation of players. High School students who volunteer with USYVL can receive community service hours. The weekly time commitment for volunteers is generally three to four hours per week.
