Volunteers and parents are the heart of our Organization. The experience we provide in learning the game of volleyball, sportsmanship, and pursuing athleticism could not happen without our tremendous network or people contributing their time and expertise. We rarely get the opportunity to recognize those who have participated for long periods of time as they move on as their children progress, life limits their availability, and many other reasons.

At the conclusion of this year’s session in South Lake Tahoe, we were able to recognize someone who regardless of what life has thrown to her – job changes, relocation within the Bay area as well as to Tahoe, retirement, etc. – yet has steadfastly volunteered her time and effort to USYVL. Whether a Clinician in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and our one time largest site San Jose, or as a member of our Board of Directors for several years, Leslie Martensen has spent the past 20 years helping to fulfill our mission. We thank her for 20 years of giving and presented her with this plaque of recognition!
