USYVL is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all participants, players and volunteers. Proper court etiquette and all rules of safety are taught to our coaches during their coaching clinic. The safety of our players is our first priority.

USYVL Coaching Clinics

USYVL provides several coaching clinics. Clinics are offered before the start of the season. If you are unable to attend your site’s coaching clinic, speak with your site clinician about attending a make-up clinic. The USYVL offers certification for all coaches. Additional training opportunities are available. You are more than welcome to attend another site’s coaching clinic to gain more coaching experience.

USYVL Curriculum Handbook

Every coach will receive the USYVL’s Curriculum Handbook. Written by some of the best volleyball coaches in the world, this handbook provides step-by-step instruction for each skill taught throughout the entire season. Every fundamental of volleyball is thoroughly explained, with pictures and diagrams to augment the text. All practices for the eight-week league are organized in down-to-the-minute format. The combination of hands-on training, and the training in the handbook, will allow a person without any volleyball experience to coach a volleyball team.

USYVL Net Height Tutorial

Volunteers coaches and assistant coaches make a huge difference in the efficiency and fun of our volleyball programs. In order to assist volunteer coaches and assistant coaches, we have a document that outlines the instructions and provides a brief tutorial for USYVL net heights. While some may be familiar with the Park & Sun Net System that we use at our USYVL sites others may be brand new to using this equipment. Regardless of your experience, we hope that you find this document helpful.

Net heights vary as the program progresses and in conjunction with the age groups for our leagues. The document below describes how to select the proper height and includes a picture to verify that the height is accurate and correct.
