A little past the halfway mark of the year also means it is time for the United States Youth Volleyball League (USYVL) midyear donation drive and growth initiative!
This year marks the 20th anniversary of USYVL. For two decades, our organization has provided children across the country with the opportunity to learn and play volleyball in a fun, safe, and supervised environment. Our programs emphasize positive reinforcement, offer quality instruction, and invite parents, volunteers, and local communities to get involved.
A point of emphasis for USYVL has always been that every child plays regardless of skill level, ability, or financial status. In fact, USYVL has never turned a child away because of financial difficulties. With your help, we can continue to fund our “Every Child Plays” financial aid program and bring volleyball to any child that desires to learn and play.
We are grateful that as USYVL has grown, so has the support of parents, volunteers, and local communities. Along with that growth, there is a need to improve educational resources and training opportunities for our programs, clinicians, and coaches. Every donation, no matter the dollar amount, will help to improve our ability to provide meaningful training and deliver a positive environment for kids to learn and play volleyball.

On Saturday, July 15, USYVL invites our Moorpark participants, parents, and volunteers to attend “Movies in the Park” presented by the City of Moorpark! Admission to the event is FREE!
Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy a family movie. It will be the perfect summer night activity for family and friends. It will be a fun filled evening with activities, games, and of course the movie.
The city will be showing the movie, “The Good Dinosaur.”
Fun and activities start at 7:15 PM and the movie will begin at 8:15 PM at Mammoth Highlands Park.
As part of the event, USYVL will have a booth at the park that evening. Included with the pre-movie activities, USYVL will provide a volleyball demo from 7:15 PM to 8:15 PM. The demonstration will include players and coaches performing drills and games.
We are looking for volunteer coaches and players from our USYVL Moorpark site that would be willing to participate in the volleyball demo. If you are interested and willing to participate in the volleyball demo, please email [email protected] with “Moorpark Movies in the Park” in the subject line.
Once we have a list of volunteers for the volleyball demonstration we will provide further details. You will need to arrive at the event a little early for set-up and instruction.

This weekend marks the conclusion of our spring 2017 league season. A special thank you to all those participants that joined us this fall to learn and play volleyball. Also a special thank you to all the wonderful volunteers out there that shared your time and talents at so many of our spring locations. You truly made a huge difference in the success of our spring programs.
As the spring season ends, we wanted to remind you that registration for the fall season is open. The early registration period is open until July 1. We encourage you to register early and save on the registration fee for our fall programs.

USYVL also offers three-day volleyball camps throughout Northern and Southern California during the summer. The coach to player ratio is 8:1 for our summer camps. These smaller groups allow our experienced instructors more time for individual coaching and instruction.

As our spring league season concludes, it is time to look forward to summer! We hope that you will join USYVL for one of our three-day summer camps.
We are happy to announce that we have added three new summer camp locations to the schedule. The new summer camp locations are Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, and Moorpark. You can learn more about each location and register for the camps at the link below.

With these additions, USYVL will host 11 summer camps throughout California. Camps are open to all boys and girls ages 7-15.
Our summer camp programs focus on skill development to improve and enhance all aspects of player’s technique and proficiency on the court. Skilled volleyball instructors with a proven coaching background provide camp attendees with expert instruction at each camp location.
At our summer camps, players participate in smaller groups according to age and skill level. These smaller groups allow our experienced instructors more time for individual coaching and instruction. Additionally, through the three-day camp experience, players are able to development meaningful friendships and learn the importance of teamwork on the volleyball court.
Other summer camp locations include: Irvine, Laguna Niguel, Long Beach, Los Gatos, Sacramento, San Jose, Thousand Oaks, and Torrance.

The United States Youth Volleyball League is pleased to announce a new program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The new league will begin this fall at Elite Sports Academy.
The league is open to all boys and girls ages 7-15. The co-ed youth volleyball league features four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-15. It is our very first league in New Mexico and we are thrilled to open up a new youth volleyball program in the Land of Enchantment.
USYVL encourages youth volleyball players to invite their friends and family to participate in the new fall league in New Mexico. Every child plays! No previous volleyball experience is required and a trained volleyball instructor is on site for each practice and game.
The league will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays and will run for eight weeks. To register for USYVL Albuquerque or for more information, visit our online registration page.
The USYVL is family-oriented, volunteer-based program where parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends are strongly encouraged to be involved. Fun
While the program teaches children the skills necessary to excel in the sport of volleyball, the focus remains on participation, cooperation, sportsmanship, responsibility and, of course, fun!
Action
Strength, endurance and improved coordination result from the weekly activity of the program. Furthermore, a season of league games is sure to provide plenty of exciting volleyball action.

Skills are taught using technically correct methods for peak performance and safety.
